As much as I love the Corsair, I've always HATED this paint job. It's (a bad facsimile of a) -1 noseart with -1A camo and markings, painted on a -1D airframe. On top of that, the colors of the art are wrong (the actual Marine's Dream was a birdcage F4U-1 painted in the early blue-gray over light gray, though the upper wing surfaces may have been oversprayed in a darker color. Additionally, the girl on the cowl was dressed in all white, and it was some sort of bikini/bra top and miniskirt, not the shirt and shorts shown here), the camo colors are off, Marine Corps birds usually had a three-digit fuselage number (so it would have been 019, not just 19), and the white stripes up on the cowl were also NOT paint. That was tape the ground crews used to seal the fuselage panels around the fuselage fuel tank, which were prone to leaking.

I wish the people who were operating and restoring these birds would take more time to actually RESEARCH how they would have been painted instead of just throwing whatever they think looks cool on them.
